Bee BotComputer Science Education Week was fun for all. Students in PreK-2 learned about coding by using hands-on “toy” robots called Bee-Bots. Together we programmed the Bee-Bots to travel paths. “Bugs" or “oops” in our programs were important parts of learning. Problem solving and perseverance skills were in full action!

Students in grades 3-5 participated in the ¾ Hour of Code. They enjoyed working on their choice of coding activities like Dance Party, Minecraft, Star Wars, and Flappy Birds.
Fourth and fifth graders also worked on a Feast Project. They worked collaboratively to plan a feast. Students used print flyers to “shop” for their items. With a $100 budget student pairs created a shopping list while learning about units, unit price, and total price. Using a spreadsheet and the sum function, they calculated a total cost and created graphs of their feast budget.

Be sure to ask your children about their exciting work with technology!
