King Open’s main collegial support mechanism for student
academic progress is our TAT Process. In addition, in order to improve
the climate of the school and to provide support for students and
families who may need extra help, the King Open School has developed a
Student Support Team.
The team has a set meeting time every week. Members of the team
include the Principal, Elizabeth, Bonnie, Laurie, Neusa, Shannon, Bucky,
and a social worker from Cambridge Guidance Center. A key feature of
the model is shared communication and expertise in supporting students,
families and our school in general. For example, the team can help link a
child or family with a community agency; help find a Big Brother or Big
Sister, help with summer camp questions, help with social isolation or
poor attendance, set up groups for students during the school day.
Please see Laurie if you have an issue/concern that you would like to
discuss with the team.
